Todays review is of a gorgeous dress bought from sheinside.com which was bought awhile ago with money I’d been given for my birthday.
I will make this clear now: I didn’t do a see-through test because you can see on the pictures of me wearing it how see-through it is and how completely visible my tights are under it. Saying that, it is lined, so I think in summer, it is wearable without tights if shorts are worn under it to avoid any underwear flashes and embarrassment. The lining is soft and does cover my bum at least, but the lining does finish at a high point, so I personally think extra is needed.
The sizing is pretty much spot on. I think this dress was bought in a medium, and it fits me perfectly: it isn’t tight in the bust, it fits over my hips, and isn’t too baggy on my waist, but because I do like to have a nipped-in waist on dresses, I do add the belt that was bought from dresslink.com to it. The only slight problem I have is length; it was shorter than I expected, but I do wear dresses of this length a lot, so when I saw the length, I wasn’t disappointed at all. It finished mid-thigh, so is a short dress and I wouldn’t recommend for people over the height of maybe 5’6″ due to show short the dress actually is. The sizing is:
- Shoulder(cm) :S:34CM,M:35CM,L:36CM,XL:37CM
- Bust(cm) :S:84CM,M:88CM,L:92CM,XL:96CM
- Length(cm) :S:82CM,M:84CM,L:86CM,XL:88CM
- Sleeve Length(cm) :S:19CM,M:19CM,L:19CM,XL:19CM
- Size Available :S,M,L,XL
The design on the dress is adorable: it’s an incredibly pale blue (paler than I imagined when ordering it) and is scattered with polka dots and daisies, which is a pattern which is repeated throughout the dress. I like the fact that it is a short-sleeved dress as it means it can look more casual but can be dressed up easily due to the design and shape of the dress; I have worn this out around town for just a day with friends and although I didn’t fit in at all, it can be dressed down a lot and look a lot more casual by simple pairing it with a long, slouchy cardigan, a jacket and a beanie. But it can be dressed up with high heels and a pretty belt, though admittedly, I do wear the belt pictured with every dress I own in this style!
The material is made of a very thin chiffon and polyester. I believe that the actual dress if made out of chiffon, while the lining that makes it less see-though is the polyester. It is immensely see-through as can be seen from the pictures, but saying that, the material is an outstanding quality. It looks all floaty and thin and dainty, but is actually a tough material; it managed to survive my cats and is still without a single hole or tear in it. If it can survive my cats, it can survive pretty much anything other than possibly a pair of scissors.
The price is what really tops it off for me: it is on sale at the moment for £11.39 (usual price of £15.86) with free shipping. The price of the dress is amazing because of the quality that you’re receiving: an adorable, well made dress with no loose threads, which is true to size with material of an amazing quality. Also, the fact that it is free worldwide shipping does attract me as it means that you don’t have to worry about added fees, because given the money, I have a feeling my bill would run pretty high because of how cute the clothing is and how high the quality is on the majority of items.
I will say this: if you like this dress, you should go and buy it; the A-line cut and pleated skirt makes me feel like a princess due to the way that the fabric moves when span. I would say that this dress would suit the majority of figures, but again, I believe maybe people who are 5’6″ and under with any shape would agree once on that it is one of the most flattering dresses.
Be safe, angels ❤
